Which format does which job
A duvet cover set changes the whole look of the bed. Whether a pillow item comes with it is stated set by set: Signature names a pillowcase, Derpy a cushion cover. Read that line on any set you consider. A fitted bedsheet goes under the sleeper and does nothing for the duvet: the cheap way to add the print, or a companion to a cover you own. A blanket is sized by itself, not by bed, and doubles as a sofa throw.
Check the measurement, not the word “single”
Four sets state a UK single, a 135 x 200cm cover with a 74 x 48cm pillowcase: the Signature design at £22.99, the Huntrix Power design at £29.99, the Character World Saja Boys single duvet set listing at £36.65 and the Unite design at £39.99. A second group is quoted at 140 x 200cm instead, a size that will not sit the same on a UK single duvet. One of that group, the Derpy 140 x 200cm bed set listing at £31.55, also states a 70 x 90cm cushion cover, a very different pillow shape from the 74 x 48cm above. That measurement belongs to this set alone; do not read it across the group. Our captured details do not provide full dimensions for the double set or fitted sheet; confirm before ordering.
Closures, fabrics and print sides
Fabric is stated per listing and differs: 52% cotton with 48% polyester on the Signature design single duvet set listing, the Huntrix Power set and the Unite set, 100% brushed microfibre polyester on the Character World Saja Boys set. Do not read one set’s fabric across to another. Closures differ too, and are not always published: Signature, Character World Saja Boys and Unite name poppers, the Derpy 140 x 200cm set a zip, and the Huntrix Power listing says nothing. Several describe two printed sides, HUNTR/X on the front, the Saja Boys or a logo on the reverse, again set by set.
The blanket
The Celestial sherpa-backed blanket listing is £28.99, in recycled polyester, machine washable and tumble dryer safe. Its title and size field say 120 x 150cm, the description 100 x 150cm, so confirm with the seller: that is 20cm on the shorter edge.
Buying checklist
- Measure your duvet and pillows first, then match those numbers in the listing.
- Read the measurement in the description, not just the title or the word “single”.
- Confirm the closure, and whether a pillowcase or cushion cover is included, at what size.
- Favour listings that name the licence holder and publish full measurements.
